Short jobs, awkward spots

Not everything needs a full elevation of scaffold. Single access towers for a gutter, a light or a sign, staircases where people are going up and down all day, walkways and bridged sections over conservatories, porches and flat roofs, and pedestrian gantries where the public walk past the front of a job. Small work, done to the same standard as the big stuff.

What’s included

Every access tower, covered

01

Access Towers

A boarded, guarded tower for gutter, fascia, sign and lighting work where a full scaffold would be over the top.

02

Staircases

Proper scaffold staircases where trades are moving up and down all day with tools and materials.

03

Bridged Sections

Beamed spans over conservatories, porches, flat roofs and side extensions so the scaffold clears what is underneath.

04

Pedestrian Protection

Covered walkways and gantries where a footpath runs past the work, keeping the public separated from it.

Questions

Asked and answered

Can I hire a tower on its own?

Yes. Single towers for gutter cleaning, fascia and soffit work, signage, lighting and surveys are regular jobs. We erect it, hand it over with the certificate and come back to strike it, so nobody is assembling access themselves on the day.

Can you bridge over a conservatory?

Yes, and it is one of the most common requests on a Southampton re-roof. Beams span across the conservatory or the flat roof and the scaffold continues above it, so nothing bears on the glass or the roof covering. Bridged spans over a certain length come with a design.

What is the smallest job you will take on?

A single tower for half a day is worth ringing about. Small access jobs are quick, they fit around the bigger work and we would rather do them than have somebody balancing on a ladder over a conservatory roof. There is a minimum charge, and we will tell you what it is on the call.

Do you do gantries over pavements?

Yes, where a job fronts onto a footpath. A gantry or covered walkway keeps the public moving past safely underneath while work goes on above. It generally needs a highway licence, which we arrange as part of the job rather than leaving to you.

Are your towers suitable for public buildings?

Yes, and where a tower goes up in a school, a shop or anywhere the public are, it is handed over with an inspection record, and can be fitted with lockable or removable access to stop unauthorised climbing outside working hours.

How quickly can you get a tower up?

Small access work is usually the quickest to book in. You will get an answer and a date within 7 days, and short towers can often go up sooner if we have a team finishing nearby. Tell us the date the work needs to happen and we will fit around it.
